For the love of: For Love and Lemons

(For Love and Lemons top c/o Shop Excess Baggage / Forever 21 shorts / Nasty Gal Carmen Floppy hat / Jeffrey Campbell Koons Pump / Silver bracelet and ring c/o Inspired Fashion)

In love with all things romantic which is why I had instant connection with, For Love and Lemons. They never seem to disappoint with their collections every season. My favorite has to be the bell-sleeved look that is on most of their tops and dresses. I also love that their favorite color seems to black which happens to be my favorite color. When in doubt, where black. Never gets old in my book.

My Birthday Suit

(Dress c/o Shop Excess Baggage / UNIF Glam faux fur coat here / Jeffrey Campbell heels here / Silver spike ring and bracelet c/o Inspired Fashion / Forever 21 necklace)

All dressed up for my birthday this past Friday in the sexiest dress ever, killer heels and an awesome coat. You only celebrate it once a year so why not go all out, right?!

I'm extremely grateful for all the things that life has blessed me with this past year. Thank you to my awesome readers, followers and friends I've made through blogging for making me feel incredibly loved. Of course, thank you to my family, my love and friends for making me feel like the happiest woman alive. I'm looking forward to many more birthdays to come!

I hope everyone has a great week and cheers to the cold weather in LA.

That's One Bright Light

(Nasty Gal top here / Forever 21 maxi / Nasty Gal hat)

This was an impromptu night photo session because I took a long nap and woke up as the sun was setting. I didn't want to waste the outfit and it's been awhile since my last night shoot. So I thought, why not?! It also fit the mood considering it was the night before Halloween and the ambiance of the locale was a bit spooky. Cobwebs, weird lighting and some strange folks. In fact, it was so eery that undercover cops pulled up and asked who we were. Apparently, Motels are known for some sketchy behavior. Hmm...really?! Of course they are. I guess we should've thought of that prior! However, I think the cops thought I was kinda cool when I told them I was a fashion blogger. Clearly they are right and for that, I think they are pretty cool too.

It's officially November and exactly a week till my birthday!

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This

(Nasty Gal hat / Forever 21 blouse and skirt / H&M belt / 2B Bebe fur vest / Vince Camuto boots / J. Crew necklace / Gifted name plate necklace / Baghaus bag / House of Harlow shades)

LA Fashion week is here ladies and gents! This is what I wore this past Thursday to my first fashion show, hosted by LA Fashion Council. It was also the first rainfall of the season and oh was it glorious! I felt so comfy and cozy in this fur vest and hat. Unfortunately, that feeling was gone in a flash because we are back to 80 degrees. Looks like I'll have to pull out my shorts cause I think it's here to stay this week. At least I got a few moments of layered happiness. We shall meet again!

The fashion continues this week with a few more runway shows I'm attending. The last one got me hooked for good. Thank you to Two Point Oh LA for accepting me into the club. I'm already getting the chance to meet some fellow fashion bloggers that I've admired for so long and to attend all these amazing shows and events. So grateful that my blog has given me so many great opportunities in such a short amount of time.

Have a great week everyone!

The Hunt for a Cold October

(TopShop harness belt / Cotton On white tee / Mink Pink Slasher Shorts / Forever 21 beanie / H&M socks / Jeffrey Campbell Litas / Bracelet c/o Happy Wrist / Romwe spiked knuckle ring)

I wore this outfit this past Monday, the hottest day of the week. I know everyone in LA feels my pain with the never ending heat wave. I have Fall clothes that I'm dying to wear! I guess I shouldn't be complaining because when it's cold, I'll want it to be hot. I'm just never satisfied. Now it's Friday and a tad bit cooler so luckily this outfit will transition easily when the cold weather decides to stay. I'll just throw on some tights and a large cardigan.

I wanted to try the harness trend and shopped around for quite sometime. I liked this one best because of the stud detailing in the back and how easily it pairs with just about anything. I wore this outfit out shopping and to dinner and got lots of compliments on it. Score! I'm now looking to try a harness belt that is a bit smaller and that crosses in the front. I actually saw a few on Asos and Nasty Gal if any of you ladies are interested.

I decided to wear my Happy Wrist bracelet alone and to do a gold ring party instead of the usual arm party! Kinda obsessed with that look right now. I'll admit though, washing your hands can be a pain!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Here's looking @ you, Kid!

(Weird Science Reply Tee by Nasty Gal / The Kink denim by Nasty Gal / Betsey Johnson Fringe booties / Nasty Gal hat / Nasty Gal shades / Bag c/o of Baghaus)

This post is an ode to my favorite online retailer, Nasty Gal! I just can't stop wearing their stuff. Now I know what addicts go through! Can't stop and won't stop unless there is help! Maybe I should start "NG Anonymous?"

Okay, need I say more about this tee?! It's part of Nasty Gal's Fall 2012 collection called, "Weird Science." I literally stopped traffic and got many obscene yells just for this outfit post! But I'm not complaining, I actually knew it was going to happen even before getting there. I mean, it's Venice Beach! Home of all weirdos, foreigners and crazy beach goers. The Weird Science tee just blended in so perfect with the weird place that I knew what I was in for. Well worth it Nasty Gal, well worth it.

Still carrying my awesome, Baghaus Cammy bag! Have you read my interview yet? Check it out here

Once In A Blue Moon

(Vintage top / Forever 21 shorts / H&M belt / Nastygal hat / H&M socks / Vince Camuto boots / J.crew bracelet / Fossil watch / Vintage Bally purse)

Some words of advice from a girl who has the worst luck when it comes to getting haircuts, or anything beauty related; if you find a great stylist, get down on your knees and thank god! I for one, will no longer throw a tantrum because I found a stylist who will not give me the infamous 1994, "Rachel" haircut aka Jennifer Aniston from the T.V show, Friends. Not only does he do my once in a blue moon trim perfectly, he has just introduced me to the celebrity crazed, color technique called, Balayage. Balayage is French for “to sweep” where the color is applied by hand rather than using the traditional foil, creating an easy sun-kissed effect. I'm hooked for life! Thank you Christopher Nicholson aka Christopher Styles for turning my luck around! Check him out here if you live in the LA area.

Does everyone notice the difference in my hair?! thoughts?

I also just want to take a moment to reach out to my readers old and new, on what I try to accomplish on my blog and why I blog to begin with. I am student and a typical everyday girl who is always on a budget. I know that the majority of girls are in the same situation as me and that is exactly why I started blogging. I want to inspire girls to be themselves and have fun with fashion! Meaning, you don't always have to splurge to look great! In every outfit post I do, I'm always wearing something I've owned for quite sometime mixed with a new piece that didn't cost me more than $40-$50. I hope this encourages other girls to try and get creative by reusing their own pieces. For instance, this vintage top cost me $1 and the shorts were $20. The hat, belt and shoes have been in my closet for over a year and all were under $100. And, the vintage Bally? my mom's from the 70's. The positive feedback and lovely comments I've received thus far has been a reward in itself so, thank you!

All that Glitters IS Gold

(LF sweater / H&M leather shorts / Vince Camuto boots / H&M socks / Nastygal hat)

Sorry Mr. William Shakespeare but all that glitters is gold. And by all, I really mean this fabulous sweater. There is something about an over-sized off-the shoulder sweater that gets me every time. Clearly, my patience has run out and I am ready for fall to commence. Thus, I am wearing some of the anticipated trends of the upcoming season; leather, sequins, black and gold.... makes a winning combination, don't you think?!

Stay tuned for part deux where I'll be wearing these awesome leather shorts again (only $25 by the way) but with a different sweater. Just a friendly heads up, these leather shorts will be a staple in my wardrobe as I will be wearing them with anything and everything!
