Leopard Lover

(Forever 21 lace crop top here / Threadsence skirt here / Nasty Gal hat here / Nasty Gal here / Betsy Johnson shoes from Nasty Gal only these are available / The usual arm party mixture from Forever 21, Asos and J.Crew)

Trying to mix up my wardrobe with cooler and sexier pieces! when I saw this skirt from Threadsence called the "On the prowl" skirt I knew it would do the trick! and it's only $42! The crop top was only $7 from Forever 21 and of course, like I said, my Nasty Gal boots are in full affect!

Currently on the hunt for more sexier affordable pieces! I have one lined up next so stay tuned!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Casual Chic

(Cotton On floral crop top/ Zara wide leg jeans/ Steve Madden Daquirii Platforms/ Vintage Gucci bag/ Gifted Vintage Gold choker/ On left arm: J.Crew chunky gold chain bracelet/ On right arm: Asos spike bracelets/ Vintage Timex watch/ F21 gold cuff/ Juicy Couture aviator sunglasses)

I love lazy Sundays! sleeping in, eating brunch  and hanging with the family. Went outside for a bit to hang with the boy in the early evening and wanted to feel chic but casual. I've had these jeans since last year and have worn them a total of two times! (really Melanee?!) I just bought this crop top for only $20 at Cotton On and the two went perfectly together. What you can't tell from all of my posts is that I love jeans! I am THE jean girl and would prefer to wear them everyday. But dressing up is just way more fun!

Since I hate flats (because I'm only 5'2), I wore my versatile 5inch platforms from Steve Madden (that I stalked for months until they were restocked!) and added one of my Vintage Gucci bags that matched perfectly. I piled on all the gold starting with my favorite Vintage gold choker that actually ended up making the whole outfit. Jewelry really does make a difference!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! cheers to a new week!

Floral with an edge

(Zara jacket/ F21 crop top/ Zara skirt/ Jeffrey Campbell Foxy Platforms/ F21 pyramid bracelet/ F21 black pyramid bracelet with crystals/ Asos silver spike bracelet/ Gifted black bead bracelet)

I love this skirt that I purchased from Zara a few weeks back. It's high-waisted which is my favorite fit of the moment. Since I am bottom heavy, it really slims me down and makes me look long and lean. Not to mention it covers my thighs but makes my butt look really good! =)

I've worn it for a previous blog post (here) but with a simple, more classic twist. I really wanted to toughen it up this time and this jacket from Zara really did the trick. How amazing is this jean jacket with leather sleeves?!!!  I then added my chunky JC platforms and created an edgy arm party with black and silver pyramid studs and my favorite go-to spike bracelet.

Oh and how could I forget to mention the orange crop top from F21 that is only $5! go get yours now in the Heritage section!

and.. ta-dah!!!! a perfectly fit, classic floral skirt with my take on an edgy twist! Hope you like it!

What Neon Dreams Are Made Of

(Motel Rocks Bonnie crop top/ Tobi skirt/ Vince Camuto boots/ F21 and Asos bracelets)

Tobi is a great online retailer that I came across a couple months ago while I was shopping stalking instead of doing homework. Their new arrivals are always 30% off and since I am always strapped for cash, I got really excited! and since one of my current obsessions is anything neon, imagine my face when I saw this skirt.

I made a deal with myself that I can only buy two new things a month and this was one item that I really had to have. So I paired it with my favorite go-to boots by Vince Camuto that I got for Christmas and my favorite crop top of the moment that I of course got from Nasty Gal. It's on sale now!

I'm loving the challenge of using items I've owned for awhile with one new affordable item. I know it's hard ladies but if I can do it, you can do it! Dig deep in your closet and I guarantee you will find something. My fashion on a budget continues until I am done with school....one more year!
