I was asked by the Senhoa Foundation to style a piece of jewelry from one of their collections. At the last minute, I ended up choosing this gorgeous necklace designed by model, Coca Rocha. It was love at first sight, but I kept thinking that this wasn't something I could wear everyday. Honestly, when do you ever get to wear something as special as this? If you're like me, never. So I decided to have fun with it, do something out of the norm and really challenge myself. I styled it in a way so women could see that they can wear it on any occasion. To complete my look, I headed straight to my favorite online retailer, Nasty Gal and chose the white denim pants and bustier. I made the shoot extra special by summoning my inner Coca, and shooting more of an editorial/magazine style piece. It ended up being edgy, sexy and definitely me!
If you didn't know, every Senhoa jewelry piece is individually handcrafted by a survivor of human trafficking. Senhoa's passion is to create opportunities for survivors to earn an income, share their stories and raise awareness against modern slavery. This was a special shoot for a very special cause!
