Face Forward with Clinique

I was asked by Clinique to collaborate on their newest campaign called #FaceForward and was asked this question: “If you could give your future self any advice, what would it be?” Honestly, it couldn’t have been better timing as I’ve been imploring my life for some time.

I often find myself at my 8-5 job daydreaming what I wish my life could be. Being in the blogging world isn’t easy, scrolling through Instagram is an ongoing battle! Your insecurities get tested daily, wishing for what other girls are wearing, where they’re traveling to and why they don’t have to sit at a desk typing away all day long. For the past three years, I’ve been engulfed in this world where what you wear and how many Instagram followers you have is more important than what’s on the inside. I let this affect me every single day up until recently where I finally told myself, no more! So what future advice would I give myself? Starting today, tomorrow, next year, ten years from now, I will be happy with what I have and do the things I've always dreamed of doing. In essence, I will travel often, worry less, and smile more!

For me, traveling to distance lands a couple times a year is not within my budget. But I realized, traveling can mean anywhere! I’m incredibly lucky to live in California with its vast lands and exceptional places. This year alone, I’ve driven up the coast to Santa Cruz, Big Sur, Carmel, San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. This photo diary is from my most recent trip to Ojai which is only an hour and a half away from Los Angeles. This cute, quaint town was right up my alley and I had fun exploring what the town had to offer. My goal is to take more small trips just like this and enjoy life within my means. No more thinking about the “what ifs” but on the “what is.”

Now it’s your turn to #FaceForward.  “If you could give your future self any advice, what would it be?”

Thanks for stopping by!

This post is in sponsorship with Clinique however, all opinions are my own.

  2. Such fun pictures! I do think too much stock is placed upon how many followers you have and how many likes you achieve with each post. It's amazing because I started blogging as a way to show off my creativity and outfit ideas, and sometimes I totally get bogged down in the muck and not-so-beautiful side of blogging. I just have to remind myself that not everyone is in the same place I am and that's okay. :)
