Adventures in SLO

Photography by Crystal Kong

My new year adventures started in SLO (San Luis Obispo) with a stop at the bubblegum wall, an eccentric candy shop and a lovely stroll on a popular downtown street. It was a cold winter day so I stayed warm in my camel coat and new jeans from Lucky Brand. Of course, I didn't forget to layer an over-sized sweater underneath and a beanie to top things off.

If you live in the California area and have never taken a road trip up the Central Coast, I definitely recommend doing so. My friend and I started from Los Angeles, traveled through Santa Barbara, Pismo Beach, SLO, Morro Bay up to Santa Cruz. Here are my top suggestions for places to stop at:

1.      Clam Chowder Bowl at Splash CafĂ© in Pismo
2.      The Bubblegum wall and walking the town of SLO
3.      Watch the sunset at Morro Rock
4.      The Forest of Nisine in Santa Cruz
5.      Santa Cruz Boarwalk

On the way back to Los Angeles, we decided to detour and take the long route on Highway 1. We stopped in Carmel which quickly became my favorite seaside town. We got there around 8am and went straight to the beach. What a sight for sore eyes! There’s something so calming about the ocean breeze on a brisk morning. We then headed through Big Sur which was even more incredible. The drive takes over 2 hours because you stop every few minutes to just take in every view possible. We got so lucky with perfect weather too because it tends to be cold during this time of year.

I’m sure you’re all wondering what I wore! When I travel, I have to stay comfortable. Jeans, a sweater and sneakers is what got me through Big Sur. Luckily so, because we found a private beach where we had to weed through weeds and climb down rocks to get to. Hopefully, you will all get to experience it one day! Remember, eat well, travel often!

Black and White

(Cardigan c/o Ella Btq /  Dailylook Midi Dress /  Charming Charlie Clutch /  Halogen Booties)

Photography by Natalee Shale

Happy Monday folks! It's been awhile since my last post so please forgive me. Coming back today with a simple yet chic look in black and white. I fell in love with this fuzzy cardigan and couldn't wait to pair it with this midi dress. However, I was tempted to style it with a pair of jeans! That being said, I may have to try it and share it in a separate post. Stay tuned!

Carmel by the Sea

Photography by Crystal Kong

New year, new adventures! I just got back from an amazing trip along the California Central Coast with my friend, Crystal. We made a stop in Carmel which quickly became my favorite seaside town. The quaint little shops, the breathtaking beach and the friendly people made me realize I was ready to retire there. Haha! Yes, retire at 33 years old. I'm definitely going back to explore, and perhaps to stay a lot longer than I should.

Also, please pardon the rip in my stockings. They tore right before shooting and since I was traveling, I couldn't go purchase a new pair. But hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Am I right?
