Whistler Diary

Today I'm sharing my most recent trip to Whistler, Canada. I've been dying to go on a snow trip for the last few years and finally made it happen. If you're dying to play in the snow and love to ski or snowboard, then put this destination on your winter bucket list. Keep reading to see where to stay and what to do if you decide to go.

What to do on the way there from Vancouver:

Definitely check out Vancouver for a few days before heading to Whistler. The drive is about an hour and a half and I would recommend renting a car. That way you can stop along the road and take a bunch of pictures.

Where to stay:

I'm lucky I work for Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles and allotted certain amount of complimentary nights per year to stay at different properties. In my opinion, Four Seasons is the best place to stay in terms of service so I wouldn't stay anywhere else. And I'm not just saying that because I work for them!

Four Seasons Whistler was amazing from the moment we arrived. A few of my favorite highlights were the property's dog, Maola, their ski concierge service and their aprรจs ski options from hot chocolate and cookies, spa services, outdoor hot tub and smores!

 What to do:

Ski and snowboard of course! I hit both Whistler and Blackcomb mountain and it was my first time skiing in over 15 years. I was definitely scared but proud of myself for conquering my fear of heights. I stuck with the green trails which were still pretty hard! The views from the trails were worth it and we found ourselves stopping often to take pictures. I also brought my ice skates and hit up the outdoor rink in Whistler Village. I haven't skated in awhile so it was great to be back on the ice!

What to do in the area:

On our last day in Whistler we decided to do a spontaneous road trip an hour away from Whistler to Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. It snowed the day before so the lake was completely frozen over with ice and snow. We had the entire place to ourselves and spent over an hour taking pictures and using Raphe's new drone. On the walk back to the car, we took some more pictures in the forrest. Boy was it magical! If you have time I would definitely recommend doing the drive. I saw on Instagram that the lake is just as beautiful in spring and summer.

Of course I had to be a complete tourist nerd and wear a Canada hat =) All for the gram, right?!
