I Left My Heart In Texas

All pictures taken at the JW Marriott Austin

Crystal and I planned this trip to Austin spontaneously one day while on a road trip to Ojai. Her and I live for our adventures, and this one was the best one yet! Our itinerary (yes, we made one!) included searching for art walls to take copious amounts of pictures, Barton Springs, tubing down the San Marcos River, paddle boarding and watching a million bats fly out of the Congress Avenue Bridge at sunset. Of course, we also devoured BBQ, Tex-Mex and hunted for the best coffee shops. By the time the trip was done, I was heat stroked, too full to eat another bite, had over 200 pictures to sort through and twelve large and in charge mosquito bites. It was a great trip, indeed.

We did find time to squeeze in a little r&r at the JW Marriott Austin. We love to have a good time but we also love to relax. The hotel was exactly as I pictured, modern and chic with comfy beds and awesome amenities. They welcomed us warmly with make your own margaritas and a delicious cheese plate (they know the way to my heart!) My favorite part was the pool area, with the shape of Texas etched at the bottom and city skyline views. The hotel offers three restaurants, two bars, a Starbucks and a fitness center. The options are endless!

I wanted to share a few of my favorite moments from the trip that were captured on my Instagram. You can follow me HERE or you can also check out hashtags #jetsetmelanee and #melcrys2015 for all the fun adventures we've been on this year.

Great reminder spotted near Hey Cupcake!
Paddle Boarding at Rowing Dock was one of the hardest things I've ever done.

Taxidermy store filled with skulls, horns, rugs etc...not suitable for all
Seventh Flag Coffee makes a pretty good iced latte with soy
This was pretty scary but definitely worth the bruises I got to take this shot
Endless art walls that you can't help but stop at. This one was located next to a chili food truck

 Infamous Austin wall

The first wall we hunted. Hello, Austin!

A huge thank you to the JW Marriott for the stay and to the staff for making us feel extremely welcome. We hope to be back very soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
